在去年，艾米納姆曾經宣布他將繼上一張錄音室唱片《Relapse》後發行一張名為《Relapse
2》的錄音室唱片。之所以放棄這個計劃，艾米納姆在接受采訪時說：「我本來打算在去年發行一張名為《Relapse
2》的唱片，但當我開始與製作人一起錄制這張唱片的時候，Relapse這個概念這我腦子里越來越少，我希望製作一張全新的唱片，《Recovery》中的歌曲與上一張唱片《Recovery》有著很大的不同，我覺得這張唱片應該有一個屬於它自己的。

EM已經在2010年6月出了最新專輯《Recovery》
據國外媒體報道，白人饒舌巨星阿姆(Eminem)的全新專輯《Recovery》在美國上市之後銷量喜人，根據Nielsen SoundScan的統計數字顯示，《Recovery》在全美上市第一周內的總銷量一共達到了74萬1千張，成為今年上市第一周銷量最高的專輯。

74萬1千張的銷量成績不僅是2010年唱片單周銷量的最高紀錄，還是自2008年10月份以來整個美國唱片市場單周銷量的最好成績。當時，澳洲重金屬名團AC/DC的新專輯《Black Ice》曾創下78萬4千張的首周銷量成績。依靠如此高的銷量，Eminem這張《Recovery》毫無疑問將成為新一周Billboard 200專輯榜的冠軍，這已經是Eminem在Billboard 200專輯榜中的第六張冠軍大碟。在所有Hip-Hop音樂人中，只有Jay-Z的冠軍專輯數量超過了Eminem，一共有11張之多。

去年，Eminem的上一張錄音室大碟《Relapse》在上市之後的銷量也是非常高的，達到了60萬8千張。但大家都沒有想到的是，在唱片銷量日益萎縮的時代，Eminem的新碟在上市後銷量還能有如此大幅的提高。2005年，Eminem的精選集《Curtain Call: The Hits》在上市首周的銷量為44萬1千張，同樣輕松獲得了Billboard 200專輯榜的冠軍。

據統計，《Recovery》在上市首周70多萬銷量中的25萬5千張來自於下載銷量，這在美國唱片行業的歷史上位居第二位，僅落後於酷玩樂隊(Coldplay)的專輯《Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends》。在2008年的夏天，《Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends》在上市首周的下載銷量達到了28萬8千張。在此之前，Eminem與蕾哈娜(Rihanna)合作的《Love the Way You Lie》依靠33萬8千張的銷量在數字下載單曲榜中空降桂冠，這已經是第六次、今年第二次獲得下載單曲榜的冠軍了。今年5月，Eminem的《Not Afraid》同樣依靠37萬9千張的下載銷量在下載單曲榜中空降榜首。
