萬聖節簡介
在每年的11月01日是西方傳統的「鬼節」——萬聖節。10月31日是萬聖節前夕.通常叫做萬聖節前夜.不過這一天的氣氛卻遠不像它的名稱那樣讓人聽上去就「毛骨悚然」。每當萬聖節到來，孩子們都會迫不及待地穿上五顏六色的化妝服，戴上千奇百怪的面具，提著一盞「傑克燈」走家竄戶，向大人們索要節日的禮物。萬聖節最廣為人知的象徵也正是這兩樣——奇異的「傑克燈」和「表演魔術或者給糖果」的惡作劇。
「傑克燈」的樣子十分可愛，做法也極為簡單。將南瓜掏空，然後在外面刻上笑眯眯的眼睛和大嘴巴，再在瓜中插上一支蠟燭，把它點燃，人們在很遠的地方便能看到這張憨態可掬的笑臉。這可是孩子們最喜歡的玩物了。
然而萬聖節的重頭戲還是在餐桌上，你既要准備好美食來招待那些前來搗亂的「小鬼」，更要在這個特別的節日為你的餐桌裝扮一番。千萬不要讓你的客人們小瞧了你哦！
一年中最「鬧鬼」這天夜裡，各種妖魔鬼怪、海盜、外星來客和巫婆們紛紛出動。在基督紀元以前，凱爾特人在夏未舉行儀式感激上蒼和太陽的恩惠。當時的占卜者點燃並施巫術以驅趕據說在四周遊盪的妖魔怪。後來羅馬人用果仁和蘋果來慶祝的豐收節與凱爾特人的10月31日溶合了。在中世紀，人們穿上動物造型的服飾、戴上可怕的面具是想在萬聖節前夜驅趕黑夜中的鬼怪。盡管後來基督教代替了凱爾特和羅馬的宗教活動，早期的習俗還是保留下來了。現在，孩子們帶著開玩笑的心理穿戴上各種服飾和面具參加萬聖節舞會，這些舞會四周的牆上往往懸掛著用紙糊的巫婆、黑貓、鬼怪和屍骨，窗前和門口則吊著齜牙裂嘴或是面目可憎的南瓜燈籠。孩子們還常常試圖咬住懸掛著的蘋果。
