② 猫—音乐剧的关于乐曲

安德鲁·洛伊·韦伯从1977年开始根据他从小最喜欢的书，《老负鼠讲讲世上的猫内》容编写曲谱。因为韦伯原来的打算是写一些在舞台上演的散曲，而且1980年他在爱德蒙顿音乐节（Edmonton Festival）上公演了他已经写好的几个片段。当时艾略特已经去世，艾略特的遗孀Valerie Eliot 参加了音乐节，并且带给韦伯许多艾略特没有发表过的诗和故事。这些故事里，就包括了后来十分有名的“Grizabella，魅美的猫”（艾略特没有把这首已经完成的诗包括到诗集里去，因为他觉得“这个故事对孩子来说太悲哀了”）。有了这些信息，尤其是Grizabella的故事，使韦伯觉得终于找到了故事的主题，而更像一部有头有尾的歌剧了。他找到拿恩作词兼导演，两个人合作，把这样一部显然不具备卖座条件的童话诗集搬上了舞台。
